Western red cedar is classified as being among the most common types of trees in the Pacific Northwest. They are one of my favorite evergreen trees, and the smell instantly takes me back to the first house we purchased. There was a huge Cedar tree in that yard. We were on a very limited budget during those years, and I frequently took clippings from that tree to make my own Christmas garlands. The flight of the swallows are my absolute favorite so it only seemed fitting to pair these two together.
